MISSION AND HISTORY
Mokau Museum seeks to make accessible artefacts, documents and photographs of significance to the Tainui region.
Our collections fall into the following categories:

Maori collection - taonga, taiaha, adzes, tiki, heru, patu

Natural history - moa bones, whalebones, fossils

Township history - post/telephone, groceries, projector, fire extinguisher, cannonball, streetlamp, dentistry

Industry history - saddles, milling, mining, farming equipment
